In February of 2004, the Cornerstone Culinary Kitchen was added to the Camp Hill location. In a private room in the back of the Cornerstone Coffeehouse, the Culinary Kitchen hosts cooking classes that instruct, educate, inspire and, above all, entertain. Private classes are also held for business dinners, client appreciation dinners, special occasions and more.

The Culinary Kitchen is unlike any cooking school classroom that you have ever seen before. It is a beautiful private room with a Tuscan inspired design. You will enjoy an atmosphere more like a gourmet restaurant than a stuffy classroom.

In the front of the room is a island with a stove and a plethora of room for food preparation. It is the perfect space for students to observe our Chef's demonstration on expert cooking techniques in our classes.

Classes here are intimate with a minimum of 12 students and a maximum of 24. There are 6 round high tables that can seat up to 4 students each. Students will dine on the samplings of the different dishes prepared while enjoying their favorite bottle of wine that they brought with them.

The Culinary Kitchen Cooking Classes Schedule

The room was designed by R&M Kitchens in Anneville. The kitchen is open to the public daily (unless there is a prior scheduled meeting or luncheon) and it serves as a showroom to display the high quality work that R&M is known for. On the back wall is a display with a multitude of pictures of a variety of designs for kitchens, bathrooms, offices, and other custom cabinetry. Our Executive Chef

Chef LaPorta is the Executive Chef/Culinary Instructor for The Cornerstone Culinary Kitchen located in Camp Hill, PA. He is also the Director of Food and Nutrition Services/Executive Chef for HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospitals of Mechanicsburg, PA. Chef LaPorta is featured on ABC 27 News Midday Edition, usually on the third Thursday of the month. He can also be seen monthly on WHP 21 News Weekend Edition.

Growing up in an Italian/Polish family Chef LaPorta's passion for food and cooking was sparked as a child as he learned to prepare family recipes for many special gatherings. From the Italian kitchen with Grandma Constance LaPorta to wild game cooking and canning in the garage with Grandpa "Joker" Stopko his foundation was laid.

With over 25 years of culinary expertise and experience Chef LaPorta thrives on his passion for cooking and teaching adults and children. His educational background includes studies in the culinary arts, business administration, management, food science, and nutrition. His employment background includes owning and operating a restaurant, General Manager for Marriott Corporation, and Assistant Director/Retail Manager for Holy Spirit Hospital as well as the long standing executive Chef at Cornerstone Culinary Kitchen. Chef LaPorta lives in Camp Hill, PA with his wife Shelly, their daughter and two sons where he continues to pass on family traditions.
